I finally put the finishing touches on this 120mm instant classic from the talented hands of Carl Reid. I painted this in my usual style of oils over acrylics. The only real problem I encountered was to try and extend the metal pin located in the rear legs for support, as I thought they were a little too short to provide the necessary support. But as you can see I managed without too much trouble at all, and its as steady as a rock on its base. Comments and critiques always welcomed, and thanks for having a look.

Thanks guys. I agree Marc, the pics are a bit dark, but I find that if I expose the figure to more light, the result is that the lighter colours get washed out. I may experiment with a lighter background to see if that helps.

Indeed it's dark but looks nice work.
Concerning the lighting for pics, the best is to play directly with the lights. I have got a display box for photographer (cost 50 € on ALi) and I use three lamps :
    - one from above, slightly behind the figure (it helps to get the figure brighter from the background)
    - one from face left
    - one from face right

To avoid spots of light, I place translucent cooking paper on the lamps, depending the effect : from one sheet to three sheet (make tests)
It works pretty well and doing that way you do not need to be engineer in photography.

Great work Glenn!! It looks very well done! Pity the pictures are a bit dark. I would like to see those colours clearly!

Thanks for the photo tips Thierry, I use a similar system as well. I suspect I need to make some sort of adjustment to the camera settings and I haven't had the patience to figure that out. I use up all of my patience building and painting the figures. But I am always willing to try out some new ideas, so I appreciate the suggestions.

Thank you all for your kind compliments, this proved to be a challenge because it is so big, but well worth it as it was a very satisfying project.
