I really do like this one, but as said, I've seen better painted stuff. But that is not why it's on here.

Lovely vignette. Cruel comment concerning the painting. It's not in the critique section.....At the end of the day someone has put a lot of work into this, please be considerate

Roy, nobody have to be unconfortable to posting in this forum because the comment above, imo is just a misplaced jugdment without fundament or why...which reflects only the opinion of a person nothing more.

    Cheers,
    Pedro.

I thought the first comment was made as a joke ...........and still do.
It's a smashing little vignette and a fascinating period of history I'm only just getting into.

    Guys

Just seen this thread , I messaged the original comment member ..,very harsh as Keith says this is not in Critique

Woukd have been good to have some constructive comments as well

..and remember the scale the picture is almost double the height of 70 mm ..pictures test acre larger than scale sometimes does not do a subject justice

For me a lot of work has gone into this ...certainly a lot better than I woukd produce .

Thank you to Edorta for posting

The paint job isn't that bad.I blame the digital camera for a lot of the problem ,as in the hobby now, close ups are the norm. It's getting to the stage now ,that you can just about see up a busts left nostril.
What i'm trying to say,is a figure/bust,should be judged on it's appearance with the naked eye, although magnification may be used to paint it,but not to judge it.14 inches is about right for viewing distance
I've had the pleasure of seeing Bill Horan's figures ,and they are brilliant, but if you've ever seen them on the front cover of Figurine magazine, blown up to A4 size, you'ld get a surprise,as you can see all the workings of the figures paint job, which doesn't do them any justice. They were not meant to be shown so close up.
There's a trend just now, with some of the top gun painters,to paint very minute detail to perfection, which is brilliant, but can think of a few who paint beautiful stuff with a more artistic and realistic style. They both, in their own right, are deserve to be recognised.

That is a great little vignette. Oh, and the paint job is just fine.
