i attended the modelfest glasgow show yesterday at bellahouston park and it was excellent. i was lucky enough to win a couple of trophys, but what i really enjoyed was meeting other modellers and hearing the banter which was very funny. i havent been to the glasgow show for a few years but i will def attend next year. well done to the organisers and everyone involved in making it such a good show./ badger

;) So that's what it's called . Well done on your awards.
It's a pity that given there's so few of us we never seem to meet up.
I was there along with Davie Mitchell, Brian Snaddon and Ron Tamburrini. As was John Russell.
Of note was the fact that the overall quality of figures in the competitions is improving year by year.

i met two people at the show, one whos model was damaged and i gave him some superglue to fix it, and another who helped me fix mine by holding his mobile phone light close to my model, and then swapping places with me as i couldnt see what i was doing, and he fixed my model. to meet people of this calibre is priceless and if there were more of them in the world it would be a better place to live in. we will meet up next year and have a pint. / badger

    Certainly will.
The risk of damage is one of the reasons we don't submit models.
There doesn't seem to be any identifiable 'policing' of the competition tables and I've actually seen visitors pick models up for a closer look.

when at the show I went for a pint to the fairway bar which was about a ten min walk, but was worth it, I met the barmaid called big burd and a customer called Derek, and the banter was great, I could have stayed all day. the Guinness was good as well. will def go back there next year
