If you look at his feedback someone commented on it being a recast ...the answer .....why do you think it's a recast because it has no box!

I see there is also "genuine" Nuts and Andrea and Pegaso busts......

The subject of recasts is a very emotive one indeed...I am not condoning it in any way but some folk like a bargain and this guys casting looks good .

Thanks for bringing it to light not that e bay will do a thing

They are inexpensive and they look great!
Companies must lower prices even more to combat this scourge.

If you buy from these crooks there won't be any manufacturers..................I don't see any of them driving around in Rolls Royce's. Their business is generally fuelled by Passion, creativity and love of the hobby which we all share! These Bastards are just parasites!

I accused one of them of being dishonest and he wrote back to me most indignantly, " How dare you call me dishonest! I may be a recaster but I am not a crook" I didn't stop laughing for a week.

I may be an US president, but I am not a crook :D How dare you making a comparison, lol.

It gets even better. There is a certain manufacturer, lets not name (people "in the know" will know) who recently won a court case over pirated figures. Had compensation and is publicly very indignant about piracy of course.

Little is known that in his younger days (years and years ago) he started with producing and selling recasts of some italian companies. To his credit, he was honest about it on some forums, and still...

    Swings and roundabouts, eh?

    Hello,

I found this thread just now and on ebay too. Yes he is not new and as you can see he sold 430 item after renewed his account. People buy this stuffs as sugar - we say so in Hungary. Very bad thing and make a negative advert for Hungary :-(
I talked about it earlier with other companies (Alpine, etc.) They can't and don't want to make anithing...
Ok, I can hope, my products are bad enough to counterfeit.

    Cheers,

Guys, it's no good carping on about evil recasters depriving legitimate producers of a living on the one hand, then going and posting links straight to their eBay listings on the other!

Because by doing that all you're achieving is giving them free publicity and helping boost their sales. Remember that there are now over 6700 members of this site, and you can bet your pension that not all of them will share your own scruples about buying on the cheap from recasters.

I have now deleted the links to this pirate's eBay store, and I will continue to delete any such links that I come across or that I am made aware of by another member (as in this case).

    Exactly, Steve (y)

Old arabic (?) or russian saying : "Dogs keep barking, but camel train keeps going" seems to apply, complaining bitterly about it will not change a thing.

I always thought that posting direct links just shows foxes where chickens are.

    (blimey, I am so metaphorical today:censored: )
