    My latest piece.
Amati Highlander Officer, 18th Century 1/10 scale
Undercoated in enamels. Finished in oils and printer inks
Sculpted the buckle assembly with Milliput. Although the box art shows one, it does not appear to have one supplied with the kit

Superb Paul - this is why I'm sticking to 54mm figgies! :D The reds are stunning, the blues too, and the tartan ... oh hell, it's ALL beautifully done!

Thanks for your support. It's much appreciated. I picked the bust up at MMSI last October with the sole intent of using it as a practice piece for painting something tartan. I have several full figure Highlanders in the grey army that have been waiting for me to get my courage up:rolleyes: As I said, the boxart shows a buckle for the crossbelt but there is no indication of such with the unpainted piece on the Amati site. Hopefully, the scratch buckle gives the belt a little more visual interest.

Derek....Red: one of those times I'm actually quite pleased with the result.

Undercoat with Humbrol British Scarlet (100)
Base: Cadium Red + a small amt of Prussian Green
Shade: Base + Cadium Red Deep + increasing Prussian Green
    Highlight 1: Cadium Red
    Highlight 2: Scarlet Lake
Redo Shade and Highlights when dry
    (oils are Winsor & Newton)

Beautiful piece Paul. The sette looks really good... very subtle, not too crisp... like real wool.

Hope to see this one up close soon

I am late seeing this one Paul. Very expressive eyes and I am sure you now have the comfort to attack any tartan as you nailed this one.

Awesome Paul! Very well chromatically balanced! Love the skin tone and the tartan looks real!
