Well after a 10 hour painting session today I finally got this bust finished. It is 200mm in scale and is from Alexandros miniatures, Roman Dracononarus IIIc It was a joy to paint and everything went together quite well.

I really fell in love with this piece when it was released a few weeks back and dropped all other projects to do this one.

The Bust pedestal came from my spares box

Painted in various acrylics and inks

Sorry for the dark photos I snapped a few off but will take some tomorrow in the day light.

Any comments good or bad most welcome.

Saw this a few weeks ago on the Athens show and I was mesmerised.Adriano-the Maestro-Laruccia has worked wonders on this one.Your painted version is one of the finest I've seen so far.You have definitely created a masterpiece.You should be very proud for this result.

Yes Marc, got a burst of enthusiasm and energy to get it finished. Jo was feeding me and regular cups of tea so did not have to move from my desk much.

Many thanks for your kind words oda. Adriano is one of my favorite sculptors and I have most of his pieces. I was quite pleased with the outcome and the face was very enjoyable to paint.

wow , very excellent work

Great work, very fine and contrasted, I think the darker ambient of the pics, reinforce this. I like the face expression, this guy is alive. Anyway, I want to see the new photos.

Dogs swingers mate. This has everything I like in a bust, top class sculpting complimented by equally top class painting. Looking forward to seeing more 'naturally' lit photos
