Forged in Fire..1941 Firemen

As a retired Professional Firefighter of 30 years service with the Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service this was something I have been wanting to finish for some time as it is very close to my heart.
Bearing in mind the recent awful Tower block Fire in London, these guys of WW2 had to deal with very demanding incidents on a daily basis often losing comrades & crew members to death and terrible injuries and they had to do it with outdated equipment and uniforms, also a lack a of decent functional breathing apparatus (incidentally the same fire kit apart from the "Tin Hat" lasted right up into my early days of the 1970's)

This is my conversion of two Youngs miniatures busts into Two National Fire Service Firemen of 1941, the National Fire Service was "Forged in Fire" early 1941 following the Blitz, hence the title, the government combined the forces of the Auxiliary Fire Service with the city & Shire Brigades to form the National Fire Service to deal with the crisis of WW2, it reverted back to Shire & City Brigades in 1947 & the AFS was never re-instated.
It's a (city Fireman) old sweat "section Commander" with two red bands on his helmet and a 20 years service & good conduct medal ribbon and a (AFS) younger Fireman with neck flap added to the helmet which in my mind represents the two forces combined into the NFS during WW2
Ground details were scratch built and the added cap badge is an original.
    Cheers
