A very familiar figure. I've been waiting since a kid to paint this:). Here is my progress so far. Any help welcomed.

I think you're doing a bang up job on this figure. Are you using oils, acrylics, or combination?

Thanks. All acrylics and a little enamels for the buttons.

Looks great and a vast improvement on Andrea's painted version they used when announcing the figure

The horse looks fantastic and you've got the right shades for the dolman and pelisse. What colours have you used?

    Cheers

Nice ... very nice ! In fact all set to become most impressive !
Tell me, how did you find the quality of the castings with this one ? I ask because mine was
decidedly 'iffy' - flash absolutely everywhere and some rather serious issues with the actual fit
of parts here and there. It took hours to put right. Am I being bit 'picky' or was I just unlucky ?

This was Andrea miniatures. it did have a lot of flash and fitting issues. a little mila put and filing did the trick.

Here are the colors I used for the dolman and Pelisse. I did use a wash of sepia tone over the brain work.

I decide that being such a fan of this figure for so many years. I wanted to make mine a little diffrent than the ones I've seen over the years. Everything I've looked at this painting, I wondered who else was close by on the battlefield. So I decided to add a fallen Austrian soldier hiding below. All scratch built from buts in my spares department:) I'm excited to see how this will turn out.
