When we enter a meadow to pick flowers.......
we always pick the nicest......
The Lord too, when he picks His flowers............
He always picks the nicest..............
and today the Lord decided to pick
one of my dear Friends.

I have no words to describe the pain for the loss of a dear Friend
But I do have the words to tell who Marcello was.
A Sicilian with a great heart, always available to help and to engage for his next of kin
a sensitive man with healthy principles, dedicated to his family and to work.
A fancier of history and a soldier geek of the old school....... driven only by the desire
and the passion to promote the uniformology...... he always had the time to dedicate himself
to any question and always a good reply to give to whomever asked him for help.
During these past two months he fought like a good soldier, answering with tenacity to every intervention......
and there have been many....... so many that it is not possible any more to count them on one's fingers.........
I have never seen a man fight with all his strength and with so much serenity
He left with great dignity.

Dear Marcelline de Marbot........... it has been a true Honor having known you
and having shared so many happy and worryfree hours with you, talking about history,
soldiers and life.......... dear friend, you left a great void
Go peacefully into the arms of the Lord, you will always be in my thoughts.

This is really a sad day for the Planet. We have all learned much from this gentle man. I never had the pleasure of meeting Marcelline de Marbot in person; but I have been in communication with this gentle friend many times by e-mail.
I wish to express my sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

OOhh my GOD... I'm really shocked. I just saw the sad news and I have to say that I really got shocked. Me and Marcello we'd developed a great friendship via emails. He was always there to give me advices for uniformology and Napoleonic information regarding figures and not only. We also had plans to meet finally in person during the World Expo.
It was a really honor to chat and talk with this great man...even if I knew him for like a year. But he was so kind and nice that you could get very comfortable with him from the first minute.
Rest In Peace my good friend. You'll surely be missed.
